Most in-house grant writers don’t have formal training, or had to teach themselves along the way — which works well enough at the start. But hands-on trial and error isn’t what you need to reach the next level of your career.

We built this program for busy professionals with full schedules. If you can carve out five hours a week — total — for coursework and implementing what you learn, you’ll keep a steady pace.

Also remember that life has its seasons. Some seasons you’ll dig in deep, put in extra hours, and push to get where you need to be. Other seasons you rest, recover, and let pieces fall into place.

We recommend asking your employer if you can study during working hours. This makes you better at the job they’re paying you to do, and most bosses love that conversation.

We get this question a lot — and it tells us everything we need to know about you. Grant writers are some of the most ethical, heart-led people out there.

Our advice? What you do outside of your 9-5 is your business.

That said, there’s a way to be considerate. If you work for an urban housing development nonprofit, maybe stay away from clients in the same niche and don’t directly compete for the same funds. Makes sense, right?

We show our grant writers how to build a 12-month roadmap for funding that works across any industry — so you can pick and choose whichever niche resonates outside of work.

It should go without saying, but we’re not lawyers. Please do your own research. Some organizations might have you sign a non-compete clause, and it’s always smart to double check the terms.

And if you want to go further? Our curriculum is approved by the CFRE for up to 92 Continuing Education Credits. That’s the highest credential in the fundraising space — and we offer more credits than any other program out there.
